| Sports Competitions |
G'day,
my name is Scott Joy and I am the
Sports Manager here at Warwick. Have a browse around, but if you can't
find what you're looking for, call me or send me an e-mail at
sport@warwickleisure.com.au.
This page has general information.
For competition specific information
go back to home and follow the competitions link. |
The side bars will take you to look
at what we do in various sports.
Our sporting facility has 4 indoor
courts, which are marked for and can accommodate various sports, including:
 |
Basketball |
Basketball is what we do! We've been doing it for
60
years in Western Australia. You may not know, but the first team to
represent the State was a Churches of Christ team. We are passionate and
serious about basketball and the development of the sport in this state. |
 |
Netball |
Netball is a large contributor to our sporting
competitions at the Centre.
The Warwick Senior High School Specialist
Netball Program has multiple court sessions through the week here,
together with the occasional inter school specialist netball carnivals.
The outdoor courts were originally built to
host the Churches of Christ outdoor netball competition ( 19 years ago
now) These days we play indoors except for the summer twilight
competition. |
 |
Volleyball |
We host a Volleyball WA
Domestic competition at the Centre on
Tuesday evenings. We also have up to 6 High Schools in the Centre each
week and their most popular sport is Volleyball. |
 |
Badminton |
Badminton is a bit of a growth sport, primarily
happening on Wednesday morning with two clubs playing on eight courts. |
|
Our outdoor courts were built as Netball courts, but are now primarily used
for tennis:
|
 |
Tennis |
Trevor Strickland, a tennis coach with
many years experience runs group coaching for young people, as young as
6, up to late teens. Private coaching can also be arranged.
Tennis is played socially, primarily of a
Wednesday morning by a mixed group, and there are a number of casual
hirings as well. |
